We didn't expect Friday the 13th would roll around without an update on A24 and Peacock's Crystal Lake series! Per Deadline, Devin Kessler (Godfather of Harlem), Cameron Scoggins (Shades of Blue, Nashville), and Gwendolyn Sundstrom have been announced as series regulars in the Friday the 13th prequel series.
They'll join previously announced stars Linda Cardellini, playing the role of Jason Voorhees' mother Pamela, and William Catlett, playing a character named Levon Brooks. According to Deadline, Kessler will play Briana Brooks, and Sundstrom will play Grace. Scoggins will play legacy character Officer Dorf.
Brad Caleb Kane, (the upcoming It: Welcome to Derry) serves as writer, showrunner and executive producer on the series, with Victor Miller (original Friday the 13th scribe) onboard as an executive producer along with Marc Toberoff, Robert M. Barsamian, Robert P. Barsamian, and Stuart Manashil.
Specifics regarding the plot remain totally under wraps but we do know that Crystal Lake will flesh out the story of Cardellini's Mrs. Voorhees, a mother who had given up a singing career to raise a special needs child, and takes a dark turn when she loses her son.
