Charlie Heaton in STRANGER THINGS

Charlie Heaton (Stranger Things, The New Mutants) and Mackenzie Davis (Black Mirror, Speak No Evil) are joining the as-of-now untitled Josh Harnett-starring sea monster suspense series at Netflix.

The six-episode show from The Umbrella Academyโ€˜s Jesse McKeown is shot and set in Newfoundland, Canada. An official logline reads:

“When a mysterious sea creature terrorizes a remote Newfoundland town, a hard-bitten fisherman (Hartnett) must fight to protect his family, his community, and his vanishing way of life.โ€

Writing on the limited series are Karen Walton (Ginger Snaps), Perry Chafe (Republic of Doyle) and Natty Zavitz (Acquainted), with Jamie Childs (The Sandman), Helen Shaver (The Penguin) and Stephen Dunn (Closet Monster) directing.

Hartnett will executive produce, as well as McKeown and Jessica Rhoades (Black Mirror). The series marks a reunion for Hartnett and Rhoades, who previously worked together on the Beyond the Seaepisode of Netflixโ€™s Black Mirror, which starred Hartnett and Aaron Paul.

Heaton will next be seen reprising his role as Johnathan Byers in the final series of the Duffer Brothers' Stranger Things, with Vol. 1 premiering on November 26, with Vol. 2 following on Christmas Day (December 25) and the finale on New Year's Eve (December 31).
