Following yesterday's official poster reveal, Netflix has unveiled the new official teaser for the fifth and final season of Stranger Things, teasing a fiery finale for the citizens of Hawkins.
Split into three premieres, Vol. 1 of the Duffer Brothers' Stranger Things 5 will debut on Netflix on November 26, with Vol. 2 following on Christmas Day (December 25) and the finale on New Year's Eve (December 31).
Returning for the final showdown are series stars David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown, Sadie Sink, Caleb McLaughlin, Gaten Matarazzo, Winona Ryder, Maya Hawke, Noah Schnapp and Finn Wolfhard, with new cast additions including Terminator legend Linda Hamilton (who can be seen for the first time in today's new teaser), and Evil Dead Riseโs Nell Fisher. We also know that Preyโs Dan Trachtenberg is set to direct at least one episode.
An official plot synopsis reads as follows:
โThe fall of 1987. Hawkins is scarred by the opening of the Rifts, and our heroes are united by a single goal: find and kill Vecna. But he has vanished โ his whereabouts and plans unknown. Complicating their mission, the government has placed the town under military quarantine and intensified its hunt for Eleven, forcing her back into hiding. As the anniversary of Willโs disappearance approaches, so does a heavy, familiar dread. The final battle is looming โ and with it, a darkness more powerful and more deadly than anything theyโve faced before. To end this nightmare, theyโll need everyone โ the full party โ standing together, one last time.โ
