July is a bonanza of free horror movie streaming, especially if you love movies about sharks, the cheesier, the better. You have so many options and some really great and underappreciated films that are available to you for free, which is a great way to chill out in the summer heat.

Pluto TV, the “stream now, pay never” service, has another motto for summer 2025. Boom, free movies. Not only does Pluto TV have the hottest horror film on streaming, 28 Days Later, but they also have the premiere of a Jersey Shore alum's debut feature film, Devon. It's an excellent time to explore this found footage film from the mind of a reality TV star.

Final Destination fans can watch the films in the series to their heart's content on Tubi this month and catch a great but sadly underseen classic of romantic horror from Luca Guadagnino. Romance in scary movies is a wonderful thing, and the streamer also has hungry dinos, evil witches, and cannibals in the desert to put fear into your living room.

Vizio has really gone all out this month. Not only do they have their usual roster of new films, they also have 27 of the wildest and cheesiest shark films ever to escape from various bodies of water to thrill you and make you laugh with fright. No seriously, they have so many shark movies, you might not be able to watch them all, even in a month.

Pluto TV is bringing the heat with Barry Levinson's only horror film, The Bay, and the Vincent Price revenge classic Theater of Blood.  David Cronenberg's dystopian nightmare with people wearing giant rat costumes and Robert Pattinson, Bill Paxton's haunting directorial debut, Frailty, and three Return of the Living Dead films that will keep you raving to the grave.

The Bay: Director Barry Levinson's first and only horror film is one that horror fans recommend to their friends when asked. A found footage experiment from the director known for The Addams Family, it breaks the mold. Chaos breaks out in a small Maryland town after an ecological disaster occurs.

Devon: Devon is the directorial debut of Jenni โ€œJWowwโ€ Farley. In it, Devon's parents engage five explorers to investigate the abandoned site years later via a cryptic website, unaware of the sinister one-way journey and terrifying, deadly experience awaiting them, after their daughter disappears from an asylum.

Disturbia: A bored teenager under house arrest starts spying on his neighbors and discovers one of them might be a serial killer. Shia La Boeuf, David Morse and Carrie-Ann Moss star in this riff on the Hitchcock classic, Rear Window.

Man-Thing: Agents of an oil tycoon vanish while exploring a swamp marked for drilling. The local sheriff investigates and faces a Seminole legend come to life: Man-Thing, a shambling swamp-monster whose touch burns those who feel fear.

Phantoms: In the peaceful town of Snowfield, Colorado, something evil has wiped out the community. And now, it's up to a group of people to stop it, or at least get out of Snowfield alive.

Prey (2007): An American family on holiday in Africa becomes lost in a game reserve and stalked by lions in this 2007 film starring Bridget Moynahan and Peter Weller.

Return of the Living Dead III: Having recently witnessed the horrific results of a top-secret project to bring the dead back to life, a distraught youth performs the operation on his girlfriend after she's killed in a motorcycle accident.

Return of the Living Dead: Necropolis: A group of teenagers, in an attempt to rescue their friend from an evil corporation, end up inadvertently releasing a horde of bloodthirsty zombies.

Return of the Living Dead: Rave to the Grave: A college student creates a drug called “Z” and sells it on campus, inadvertently resurrecting the living dead, who wreak havoc at a Halloween rave.

Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark: Pennsylvania, 1968. After playing a joke on a school bully, Stella and her friends decide to sneak into a haunted house that once belonged to the powerful Bellows family, unleashing dark forces that they will be unable to control.

The Signal: A horror film told in three parts, from three perspectives, in which a mysterious transmission that turns people into killers invades every cell phone, radio, and television.

Sleepy Hollow: Ichabod Crane is sent to Sleepy Hollow to investigate the decapitations of three people; the culprit is the legendary apparition, The Headless Horseman, in this scary fairy tale from director Tim Burton.

Tales of Terror: Three tales of terror involve a grieving widower and the daughter he abandoned; a drunkard and his wife's black cat; and a hypnotist who prolongs the moment of a man's death.

Teen Wolf Too: Todd Howard is a struggling college student. Nothing seems to be going very well for him until he turns into a wolf in this sequel to Teen Wolf

Theater of Blood: A Shakespearean actor takes poetic revenge on the critics who denied him recognition in this classic British horror comedy of revenge directed by Douglas Hickox. It has stellar and agonized performances from Vincent Price and Diana Rigg. If you want to see a film that had a great influence on The Menu and Ralph Fiennes' performance in the film, look no further.
