Peter Pan is the latest once-beloved childhood character to join the Twisted Childhood Universe of public domain horrors, with new stills from the upcoming Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare giving us a good look at one messed up Tinkerbell and Captain Hook.
From Jagged Edge Productions, ITN Studio (the team behind Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 1 & 2) and director Scott Jeffrey, Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare stars Megan Placito (The Salt Path) as Wendy Darling, Martin Portlock (Britainโs Got Talent) as Peter Pan, Kit Green (Dragonโs Dogma 2 ) as Tinkerbell, Peter DeSouza-Feighoney (The Popeโs Exorcist, Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2) as Michael, Kierston Wareing (Fish Tank, Itโs A Free World, The Holding) as Roxy and with Nicholas Woodeson (Skyfall) as Steven.
The newest entry into the Poohniverse follows Wendy Darling as she strikes out in an attempt to rescue her brother Michael from the clutches of the evil Peter Pan who intends to send him to Neverland. Along the way she meets a twisted Tinkerbell, who is hooked on what she thinks is fairy dust.
Peter is the latest to join the likes of Winnie-the-Pooh, Mickey Mouse, Bambi, Popeye the Sailor Man, Pinocchio and Cinderella in the canon of once-pure characters turned into twisted nightmares. Given how much Rhys Frake-Waterfield's Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey made (over $5 million off a budget of just $50,000), consider the Poohniverse to carry on expanding for a good long while.
