The I Know What You Did Last Summer reboot slashes into theaters on July 18, with Sony releasing an official poster today that teases the return of the Hook.

Directed by Do Revenge's Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, from a script co-written by her and Sam Lansky,  I Know What You Did Last Summer sees the return of Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr as Julie James and Ray, their characters from the 1997 original, respectively.

Also starring in the slasher reboot are Billy Campbell, Jonah Hauer-King, Madelyn Cline, Alexander Chavez, Lola Tung, Tyriq Withers, and Chase Sui Wonders

An official synopsis for I Know What You Did Last Summer reads as follows:

When five friends inadvertently cause a deadly car accident, they cover up their involvement and make a pact to keep it a secret rather than face the consequences. A year later, their past comes back to haunt them and theyโ€™re forced to confront a horrifying truth: someone knows what they did last summerโ€ฆand is hell-bent on revenge. As one by one the friends are stalked by a killer, they discover this has happened before, and they turn to two survivors of the legendary Southport Massacre of 1997 for help.

Leah McKendrick (M.F.A.) wrote the original draft of the screenplay.

1997's I Know What You Did Last Summer, based on Lois Duncanโ€™s 1973 novel of the same name, was followed by two sequels – I Still Know What You Did Last Summer in 1998 and I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer in 2006.

Robinson's I Know What You Did Last Summer is the second attempt to bring the franchise back to life for a modern audience, after the failed Prime Video series that only lasted a single season and diverged from the original novel and the cult films.
