SILENT HILL 1(1999)

Following the success of Bloober Team’s Silent Hill 2 remake, Konami's Press Start event has today revealed the team's next take on the survival horror gaming franchise, with a Silent Hill remake.

Released in 1999, Silent Hill kickstarted the storied gaming series, with players entering the foggy town as protagonist Harry Mason, on the hunt for his missing daughter, Cheryl. A direct sequel, Silent Hill 3, followed in 2003.

The news follows Bloober Team's previous confirmation that they were keen to remake other entries in the Silent Hill series, and the first game is the perfect place to start. Although iconic, the game has long been tough to obtain, making it hard for new players to enjoy. Needless to say, a remake with updated visuals and gameplay in Bloober's capable hands is exciting news.

With over a million copies sold in its first week alone and overwhelmingly positive critical ratings, Bloober's Silent Hill 2 remake was one of the most successful games of 2024. Will Silent Hill follow suit? Only time will tell.
