Critically-acclaimed psychological horror game SOMA is coming to Nintendo Switch later this month as part of the system's horror library expansion.

First released in 2015, SOMA has previously only been playable on PlayStation 4 and 5 consoles, but will be available on the Switch from July 24 thanks to developer Frictional Games and publisher Abylight Studios.

In SOMA, players play as Simon Jarrett, who finds himself on an underwater remote research facility under mysterious circumstances, which contains machinery that exhibit human characteristics such as possessing a personality and consciousness. The existential horror is cranked up high by the game's first-person perspective and use of stealth tactics as seen in Frictional Games' other hit horror game, Amnesia: The Dark Descent. Boasting an “Overwhelmingly Positive” score on SteamSOMA sold over 450,000 copies in its first year of release alone.

For those who just got their hands on the Nintendo Switch 2, fear not: according to Abylight, SOMA will also be compatible with the new console.
