A Quiet Place star and director John Krasinski will return to the post-apocalyptic horror series to write, direct and produce A Quiet Place Part III, officially scheduled for release on July 9, 2027.

Reporting the news earlier today, Deadline confirms that cast and plot details remain under wraps. Krasinski and Allyson Seegerโ€™s Sunday Night Productions are producing with Platinum Dunes.

2018's A Quiet Place introduced horror fans to a world inhabited by blind extraterrestrial creatures with an acute sense of hearing. Krasinski starred in the first film, written by Heretic‘s Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, alongside Emily Blunt, Noah Jupe and Millicent Simmons, playing a family of survivors. The pic was a hit, generating over $340 million at the global box office and spawning two follow-ups, A Quiet Place Part II, also written and directed by Krasinski, and spin-off prequel A Quiet Place: Day One from Michael Sarnoski (Pig, the upcoming Death Stranding film).

Krasinski's return to the franchise, while welcome news, isn't particularly surprising – A Quiet Place was always intended to be a trilogy, with The Office star wanting to see how the second movie was received before committing to a third.

See Krasinski's confirmation of the news below, and look out for more on A Quiet Place Part III as we get it.
