This September, Magic: The Gathering (MTG) frightens up a new all-horror-themed expansion with DUSKMOURN: HOUSE OF HORROR, and we have the first look at five new cards from the set!
For the uninitiated, MTG is a collectible card game since 1993 by Wizards of the Coast that has always been in the fantasy genre but has always had its toes in horror with cards like Singer Vampire, Eater of the Dead, Dauthi Horror, and Cosmic Horror to just name a few. And not too long ago, with their Secret Lair project, they dropped Evil Dead and Jurassic Park cards. Now MtG is finally giving the horror fans what they want, and all things horror expansion set.
For those with a keen eye who have already looked at cards previously announced from their showcase, you will have seen cards that reference The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, The Ring, Blade, Gremlins, and more! There are also horror movie poster-inspired cards and some that resemble the style of Famous Monsters covers.
DUSKMOURN: HOUSE OF HORROR will be released on September 27 as physical cards and digitally in MTG Arena.
