Bloober's Silent Hill 2 remake is one of the most anticipated horror game releases of this year, with fans and doubters alike keen to see how the remake stacks up against the original of Konami's 2001 psychological horror classic. From the looks of things so far, we'd say it's staying pretty loyal to the original, but don't take our word for it – check out this new 90 minute gameplay video from Japanese YouTuber 2BRO.
Streaming the Silent Hill 2 remake earlier this week ahead of its October 8 release date, 2BRO gave viewers a chance to see an hour and a half of Bloober's remake in action, showcasing the improved graphics and expanded environment that fans have long been itching to see in action.

2BRO's gameplay showcases a number of scenes that fans of the original will be intimately familiar, including James finding the infamous radio, and meeting the mysterious Angela Orosco in the graveyard. Hilariously, 2BRO is playing The Silent Hill 2 Deluxe Edition, which includes exclusive items that James can wear in-game, including a pizza box Pyramid Head, and Mira the Shiba Inu and Robbie the Rabbit masks (Robbie being a PlayStation 5 exclusive)
It's been a long, long road to the Silent Hill 2 remake, with the title first announced all the way back in 2022 during a special Silent Hill Transmission event. Since then, the game's extremely loyal fanbase have clashed on how the game will be received, but it looks like Bloober might be about to prove all the doubters wrong. Fingers crossed, eh?
