It's no secret that us horror fans go buck wild for a good piece of merch, especially if it's a little messed up. But licensed Konami store OKS GEAR might have taken the cake with their most recent piece of Silent Hill 2 paraphernalia, which is both hilarious and horrifying in equal measure.
Released back in October 2024, Bloober Team's remake of the 2001 Konami survival horror classic was a big hit, with critics and fans alike praising the modern take on the tale of James Sunderland, a mourning widower who returns to the foggy town of Silent Hill after receiving a letter from his long-deceased wife Mary. There's plenty in Silent Hill 2 to make merch out of – from the iconic looming figure of Pyramid Head to the adorable Shiba Inu Mira from the game's joke ending – so why exactly is OKS GEAR selling a, uhh, plain white pillow?
Of course, those who have played Silent Hill 2 (original or remake) will know that – SPOILERS! – a white pillow is what James used to smother his ailing wife merely a few days prior to the events of the game, ultimately leading him down a delusional path of guilt and repression as his subconscious tries to reckon with what he's done. Try explaining that one to sleepover guests.
The ultra-soft baby velvet pillow comes with a 100 count cotton pillowcase, perfect for your restless dreams, and has a secret surprise in the form of a glow-in-the-dark message, copied from Mary's letter which inspires James to look for her in the first place.
Unfortunately, the pillow is, at the time of writing, sold out – but hear us out: if demand is high enough, supply must follow. The ball is in your court, OKS GEAR. Please give the people (this writer included) more of what we want – a really fucked up place to close your peepers.
