With just under a month to go until its premiere, FX has unveiled a second official trailer for Alien: Earth, hitting Hulu on August 12.
From director Noah Hawley (Fargo) and produced by Alien helmer Ridley Scott, Alien: Earth is set two years before the 1979 sci-fi horror classic, follows the fallout of a mysterious deep space research vessel USCSS Maginot crash-landing on Earth. Wendy (Chandler) and a ragtag group of tactical soldiers make a fateful discovery that puts them face-to-face with the planetโs greatest threat โ and this time, it's not just Xenomorphs. In fact, as made evident by today's new trailer, there are five brand new “monsters” that the crew are going to have to deal with – and we're gonna go ahead and assume most of them don't have humanity's best interests at heart.
Starring in the 8-episode show are Timothy Olyphant (playing a synthetic humanoid named Kirsh), Sydney Chandler as Wendy, a โhybrid, a meta-human who has the brain and consciousness of a child but the body of an adult,โ Essie Davis (The Babadook) and Alex Lawther (Black Mirror).
Alien: Earth will premiere with two episodes on August 12, at 8 p.m. ET on Hulu and the FX linear channel at 8 p.m. ET/PT in the U.S., and via Disney+ internationally. New episodes will drop on Tuesdays on Hulu beginning at 8 p.m. ET and FX at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
