Louis McCartney in Stranger Things: The First Shadow on Broadway. Matthew Murphy and Evan Zimmerman

The fifth and final season of Netflix's Stranger Things might be just around the corner, but fear not – the world of the Upside Down is hitting the boards with Stranger Things: The First Shadow.

Now playing on Broadway, the Tony-winning prequel play is set in 1959, 24 years before the start of the Duffer Brothers' Netflix series, and follows Creel family who are seeking a fresh start – especially their teenage son Henry, who is eager to escape his troubled past:

Everything changes when he meets Patty, a fellow outsider, and their budding romance gives Henry hope for the first time. But when a wave of shocking crimes strikes the town, Henry is forced to confront a terrifying truth: is something inside him that connects him to the horrors unfolding around him?

Tony Award nominee Louis McCartney and Emmy nominee Gabrielle Nevaeh star as Creel (aka the villainous Vecna) and Patty Newby respectively , along with Rosie Benton (Virginia Creel), Alex Breaux (Dr. Brenner), Janie Brookshire, Kelsey Anne Brown, Malcolm Callender, Taโ€™Rea Campbell (Pattyโ€™s Mom), Juan Carlos (Bob Newby), Lauren Nicole Cipoletti, Antoinette Comer, Robert T. Cunningham (Charles Sinclair), Ayana Cymone (Sue Anderson), Tom D'Agustino, Victor de Paula Rocha, Ian Dolley (Walter Henderson) and Dora Dolphin (Karen Childress).

Stranger Things: The First Shadow was written by Kate Tefry, Jack Thorne and the Duffer Brothers.

The first half of Stranger Things Season 5 premieres on November 26, with the next three episodes releasing on Christmas Day, and the series finale premiering on December 31 (and no, every episode isn't almost three hours long!)
