The second season of Wednesday hasn't even premiered yet, but The Hollywood Reporter confirms today that the Tim Burton-produced hit series has been snapped up for Season 3 at the streamer.

According to THR, a Wednesday spinoff is also in early talks, although details remain “top secret”.

Hitting the streamer in two parts, the second season of the Jenna Ortega-starringWednesday will premiere with its first four episodes on August 6, while the second part, also consisting of four episodes, is due to premiere on September 3.

Starring alongside Ortega in Wednesday‘s second season are returning series regulars Fred Armisen (Uncle Fester), Emma Myers (Enid), Joy Sunday (Bianca), Doohan (Tyler), Victor Dorobantu (Thing), Moosa Mostafa (Eugene), Georgie Farmer (Ajax), Catherine Zeta-Jones (Morticia Addams), Luis Guzmรกn (Gomez Addams), Isaac Ordonez (Pugsley Addams) and Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo (Ritchie Santiago).

Joining the second season are Mother Monster herself Lady Gaga in an unknown role (but rumored to be playing a teacher at Nevermore), Christopher Lloyd, Joanna Lumley as Grandmama, Haley Joel Osment and Steve Buscemi as new principal Barry Dort, as well as Billie Piper, Thandiwe Newton, Victor Dorobantu, Moosa Mostafa, Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo, Georgie Farmer, Isaac Ordonez, Evie Templeton, Owen Painter, and Noah Taylor.

It's no real surprise that Wednesday should be returning for a third season – the Emmy-nominated show scared up record viewership for Netflix upon release, going viral to generate 252 million views globally, becoming Netflixโ€™s biggest English-language series of all time. Plus, if Wednesday stays true to the lore of the Nevermore Academy, we could be looking at six seasons minimum as the moodiest member of the Addams clan makes her way through years of attending the eerie institute.

Look out for updates on Wednesday Season 3 and its potential spinoff as we get it.
